Patients frequently want to know if they must obtain a physician referral before being seen in our office, but we welcome self-referred patients. In most cases, insurance companies do not require a referral from a primary care provider. Whether a patient is referred by another doctor or self-referred, we do work in tandem with your other medical providers for a more comprehensive care for your pain management.
Our office will provide follow-up information about your treatment options and/or pending procedures to your doctor(s) so he or she has that in mind when treating your other healthcare needs. Additionally, it is important for us to know any medications and health issues you are currently experiencing to prescribe appropriate treatment options for your pain. We will perform an exam and ask a lot of questions on your first visit. If you have any medical records, x-rays, or other information that may be helpful, we encourage you to bring those with you to your appointment. There may be other documentation that will need to request from you and your other medical providers.
NOTE: We currently accept most major insurances, but we recommend our patients call our office to confirm their insurance plans are in network with our practice. Our staff is happy to take your information and get back to you regarding any insurance questions.
